This "Magazine Company" is a complete fraud! I got a phone call last night from a girl by the name of Roxanne saying I was in some crazy sweepstakes and i am going to revieve some free watch and a subscription to some magazine. I was then informed I would be charged for two other magazines of my choice. I laughed along withthe phone call but once the woman had hung up I sort of just ignored it. I then recieved another phone call from a man named seth from the exact same company. He then began to spit out all sorts of incredibally confusing information about the deal with the company. I understood I would be charged 3.83 per week for the two additional magazines. He then began to go over rules and regulations so quickly it made my head spin. I went along with what he was yammering about and just kept saying yes thinkin as soon as he is dont talking I can get off the phone. He went over the rules and policy so quicky and it is so much information at one time there is no question that the consumer would be confused. Against my better judgement I gave him my credit card number. I did not though give him the 3 digit number on the back of the card. Anyway aafter I hung up the phone I immediatly felt very unsure about the entire situation. It all seemed very confusing and very very scummy. Then about ten minutes later I got yet another phone call from a man named Sean who worked for the company. He then wanted to make sure that I understood the rules. As he began to talk I questioned him on how come I cannot cancel this? And he would start going on about some verbal contract which I did not understand. I did not understand there was no way of cancelling. Somehow I agreed to let the payment date get pushed back two weeks from the day i recieved my phone call. I though with that tie i will have a little bit to figure all of this out. I called my credit card company today and cancelled the card. My company told me that I could cancel my card and keep allthe records on this transaction so that I would not be involved in a mix up later. However upon talking to my company they said the Us Magazine service ALREADY charged me 49 dollars EVEN though i told them to push back the payment date till two weeks from now. Anyway I am trying to get my way out of this mess as best I can in hopes not to dig myself deeper into this hole. This company is a complete fraud and what they are doing has to be illegal in some fashion!
