The Cobra group? Well what can we say? To all the victims out there, there are many people who have dealt with the same things, the same problems and everything else that comes along with it
My story:
I had applied for a job that was advertised in the paper for a sales consultant, I was attracted with this and I wanted it, the job had advised immediate start and that's what I needed, I went to the interview and I was dressed as required, I went to the interview feeling confident in what I was going to do. The manager of the company had walked out in a nice business attire and had come across as a guy who knew what the job was all about and obviously had made a lot of money in this business, so the first thing that had come into my head was "this is a job that I want"
The interview conducted and I was scared and I didn't know how to react to this so I was confident, then I was asked to be taken out to speak to our cliental to see what I was like with the attitude and everything else that came along with the job (as they usually do!) I was taken out with a team leader who I was advised was a high roller and was close to becoming promoted in the company. Then taken out to the field and realised that it was door knocking, I was quite disappointed but at this point I was up for a challenge, in fact this was! This day he had taken me out for lunch, and payed for it for me, I was amazed at this but quite impressed. He then started to teach me the steps that I needed to know in which I will be tested on when I went back to the office. I memorised them the whole day and then, that day he had made 7 sales while I was with him. It looked so easy! I was thinking in my head well it looks so easy, anyone can do it, I mean everyone needs electricityright? Well maybe not in this case
I had gone back to the office in my car, (in which we went to pick up because the owner needed his rent a car) made me wonder why he didn't own a car, but I let it slip past me. I was told that I could improve on something's but then was given the job, happy with this I was calling all my friends and parents and telling them this, my parents were concern because I was living so far away, but at this point I didn't care because I wanted the job bad!
It then came to the week when I started with 3 new other people, all males but there personality was great and I enjoyed there company. We were asked to go on a trip to increase our sales, I accepted this trip we headed off in my car in which I was ok about, the thing was no one had money on them, so there fore I had to pay for the fuel to get there and this did not bother me as the pay day was on the Friday and they would pay me back, the other guys were told that only about $70 was needed for the trip as everyone was going halves with the shopping ect, but these people were smokers which had become a problem. With the assistance of my parents I was given a little more money then I was told to bring. The leader of the team in which was suppose to be the responsible one had no money at and was a smoker, this point he had asked me for money for smokes and use the guilt trip on me, which worked. Payday was Friday and I had $300.00 in my account to last me a week, I received the money off the people that owed me money which was fine! But then again on the Friday night we went and got some drinks and pizza, if they can spend all this money on this then I don't understand why they become broke? During that week I feel sick, coughing all night and keeping everyone awake and I felt bad so I did what I could to stop myself from actually coughing. I called my boss the next day and told him that I was sick, losing my voice and coughing all the time, al he could say was well take the day off and then I want you to go back on to the field later in the afternoon, I was really annoyed and didn't call him at all, he did not attempt to call me at all. The guys that were out on the field attempted to take my car, I would not let them and I was receiving constant calls of them getting me to come and get them for the toilet and food ect. I was sick, I needed to rest but I was running around after these people. I felt bad the rest of the night as I was getting told by my team leader that if u want to get promoted you need to go to work, I was sick and coughing, so u think anyone wants to take to someone that can make them ill? I think anyone with a brain can answer this!
Another incident happened when we were working, another team leader had asked to borrow my car because he needed to apply for a credit card, I didn't want people using my car and fuel that I had worked for and put in for them and they were going to go around in my car, who knows what they are doing, and I was told to obviously keep it a secret from the boss. I had called my dad in anger and he had called the boss and advised him that It was my car but in dads name and if something was to happen that they are not covered, not long after he had returned the car and I kept the keys with me all the time
Another incident like this happened right up until I was about to leave, it was raining and I was walking down a drive way and I slipped an had hurt my ankle, I called my mum in tears and adv her to come and get me because the guys had my car, mum then demanded the number and called and abused the guy and then he came and told me that I needed to get in the car and go to the hospital and to grow up, I told him that I wanted my car and that I wasn't going to let him have the car, I was annoyed and I then called my boss and told him that I couldn't work anymore or the week as my ankle was swollen and was in pain. I returned to work with the crutches and they advised me that I should still do some door knocking to make money, yeah ok and then I will end up worse, the only reason why I went is so that people could see that I was not faking the injury
The moving to Sydney after the Christmas break we came onto the field, I was then asked if someone could take the car, I then said yes and my tank was returned nearly empty I asked were it all went and he said that it was like that when I gave it to him, I should know how much fuel I should have in my car, he was driving around all day with his Girlfriend who was also working there looking for other jobs
No one was doing there work, people were constantly driving around making out that they were working, some of my leaders had gone home that day and did nothing and came back and obviously no sales!
I was ripped off, I was cheated, and I was used. All the people had left, in debt and in pain because of the financial pain that it had put people through, to this day im working for a company that is very supportive great supervisors, great team environment, and I get a pay!
One of the leaders that feel into massive debt is now doing business to business toy sales, did he not learn either?
Rejects? Bull! Bond? Bull!!! There was stuff all rejects it was just money for them for there pocket! It was a scam he bond, it was apparently for rejects that we hadso was I making at least on my calculations $700.00 a week and getting payed $300.00so $400.00 was bond and rejects? Yeah please!
