I received a check of $3,165.42 in the mail with a letter stating that I had won $250,000.00. The letter said that I needed to call the number to verify my winnings, I did so and it sounded too good to be true so I got off the phone and did a little research.
First, the 866 phone number on the letterhead (8668403105) does not exist.
Second, the 514 phone number is a cell phone number out of Quebec Canada (514-515-5111).
Third, the address on the letterhead is a private address in Plainview, NY.
Forth, the bank name on the check, Momentum Direct seems to be a front if you search the internet all you get is more rip-off scams.
Trust your intuition, if it is too good to be true then it is.
