We have received numerous consumer calls regarding Publishers Clearing House (PCH) asking to verify whether we sent them a small check in the mail to deposit (usually around $4,000); with the assurance that they have won a large sum of money from PCH, which they will receive after depositing the initial check.
This might considered a "bait and switch". First they give you a check, then promise you a larger amount to be received later. We have asked these callers what is shown in the letterhead title of the letter and they have told us Standard Trust Company on behalf of PCH. We have asked what address is shown on the letter and they state a P.O. Box in Las Vegas, but no phone number is provided. We have never seen one of these letters, only a description of it.
We ask how they received our phone number and they indicate they received it from calling customer information or through yellowpages.com.
STTCI.com is Not That Company and we have NO ASSOCIATION with Standard Trust or Publishers Clearing House in any state of the U.S.A. Or in Canada. If you receive a check in the mail from a totally strange company that is unfamiliar to you, and it sounds too good to be true, it probably is and will probably get ripped off if you proceed.
Consumers should "Beware" of this Scam. If you deposit the check, you will probably lose your money in your account.
