On June 16 I ordered two place settings of Waterford China from Placesettings.com. I have placed orders for numerous items over the internet for years and I have had no problems doing so until I did business with this company. I now realized I should of checked online for rip-off information concerning this company before ordering. After reviewing my credit card bill in July, I noticed that this company was paid on June 20 so I assumed that my China would be arriving in 2 or 3 weeks as was the case with other companies I had ordered from online.
When I did not receiving my order in three weeks, I called their customer service number and talked to a customer service agent. She took my order number and said it would be arriving in approximately 2 weeks but to call back the next week. I could not get through to them on the phone the next week so I sent an e-mail stating my concerns. Their reply e-mail relayed information which stated the items were on back order from the Waterford company and I should expect the China to arrive in 4 to 6 weeks. The China did not arrive within that time period and since then I have been told different time frames for the arrival of my order.
Today, I called my credit card company and told them my story. I also cancelled my order but since I did not get any information from their last e-mail I doubt if they will comply with this request. I believe they understand the way to defraud people by using credit card dispute time lines. Credit card companies usually give the customer sixty days from the time of having the money taken from their credit card account to take action against a company. Placesettings.com draws this time line past the 60 days grace period by saying the items you have ordered are on back order. Copies of my phone bills and my e-mails display the unethical tactics this company utilizes.
