A guy by the name of Larry calls and says that he is giving me a free portable band saw. I've heard of gimmicks like this and I told him, "No! I don't want it!" He kept insisting that it was a free gift, and I kept saying that I heard of this scam and knew that he would want me to purchase something else in return. I hung up on him, but he called me back. He insisted that the protable saw would be absolutely free. I agreed to accept it, and then he said that the only thing he wanted was for me to buy the replacement blade for the band saw from him. He said the they were in a four packs of $69.79 each. I told him the I would take one. I was a bit skeptical and when he asked for my bredit card information, I told him that I didn't have my card with me. I was "taken" once on a similar "scam" and had given my card number, prevuosly. He still had the number after three years, but the card had expired and I did not activate the new card that was sent to me. I told him that I didn't have the new card information so he said he would call me back later. After haging up the phone, I realized that thsi WAS the same guy that had "taken" me a few years ago. I was ready to tell him I changed my mind, if he called back, but he NEVER did. Two weeks later I received a package containing a saw and 3ea. Four packs of blades. The invoice showed 12 blades at $69.79 EACH! I called to complain and say that I never authorized the purchase and insisted that I be allowed to return the merchandise and get my money back. But he began to argue with me saying that thye did no refund money, but gave a store credit ONLY. I still insisted, and he became very obnoxious andabusive in his laguage and even threatned me! I imediately hung up the phone but he kept calling me back for two hours. I did not answer my business phone, so he began calling my cell phone and even called my home.
This guy need to be stopped! It's not the first time he "duped" me out of cash, and I don't think I'm the only one.
