I am yet another victim of the website based USAphotonation. I recently ordered the Nikon D-40 SLR camera from their website. I was sent an e-mail stating that they needed to talk to me about the order and to call their processing department. I called and talked with the service representative and he told me that I needed to buy additional items, i.E. The battery and charger in order for the camera to work properly. I stated that I already have a battery and charger from another camera I own that would work with this camera.
He stated that the D-40 camera isn't formatted for the USA and that it comes from overseas and I needed to purchase the additional items.
I stated that if that was true, then I wanted to cancel the order. He stated that he had cancelled the order and had already charged me a 7% cancellation fee and then hung up! I wish I had read this page prior to ordering the camera! Another lesson learned.
