This employer lied to me from the beginning, starting with the interview. I was told that I would be home on weekends, would receive training from other employees, and be compensated for travel time as well as hours worked. All lies.
After 4 days of employment, I was put in a company truck and sent out on my own to repair equipment I had never worked on before. After 2 months I was sent to the east coast and was put in a position for which I had no training or experience. For the next 10 months I was stuck on the east coast only allowed to go home every 2 weeks, and still received no training.
I was expected to do jobs that normally require two people, but caught flack if the operations manager thought the job was taking longer than he thought was necessary (Although he never visited any of the sites while I was working there, nor knew the daily challenges or changes that occurred.)
My daughter lives in Baltimore, MD. I thought I would save the company money by driving 2 or 3 hours to Baltimore to spend the weekends instead of driving 12 hours or flying home. I noticed that my hours on my paycheck stub did not equal the time I submitted on my time sheets. When questioned why there was a difference I was told they were not going to pay me to drive from Philadelphia or Newark to Baltimore and back.
When I took the postion through a placement agency, the Headhunter told me that they had never fired anyone. No wonder.in the year that I worked for them there were 5 or 6 people who quit. The total number of employees in Indianapolis while I was there was less than 15.
They are also one of the most unorganized companies I have ever had the misfortune of working for. They give you inferior equipment, poor support from the office, prints and drawings which are not current, and expect you to perform tasks that you are not trained in or qualified to do.
This is a bad company to work for and their general quality of work is inferior.
