Recieved a letter stating I was a winner in the DE-LOTTO Australians Sweepstakes lottery. Entitled to the sum of $250,000.00.
I called the phone number given, and was told to take the check in the amount of $4,867.00 and call back. He requested that I wire $2,870.00 to their account to pay applicable government/bond fees.
The bank informed me that the check was fradulent and that this was a scam!
The individuals listed on the letter are Bryan Howard (claim agent) and Nicky Actele (promotions manager).
On the letter head it has 2 addresses listed, one in US and one In CAN. Phone number listed on the letter is a canadian number.
