Scam Fraud Rip Off Rip-Off lied to my husband

Two days ago my husband received a call to his cell phone from (913) 248-1105 and a man claiming that I had a 'balance' of seventy some dollars from some magazines and would he like to pay that over the phone. He knew my name, address and social. Since right now we are trying to improve our credit, my husband who was in a rush foolishly gave him his CC# and advised him we did not have funds at the moment. The customer service rep gladly said no problem we will keep trying the card until the funds are available. When my husband told me about this I assumed everything would be okay because I do at the time have a balance of seventy some dollars with In Touch Weekly that I have not paid yet and assumed that would be one debt wiped off. Thanks to my intuition, (my womans intuition) I decided to call this number up just to make sure I was right and it turns out I was calling Publishers Renewal, who told me that they sell magazines and different companies work for them and she looked up my cell phone number and found that Area Circulation, a magazine distributor who works for them, had been trying to contact me. I asked her about In Touch Magazine and they said that In Touch was not one of the companies they affiliated with. The Publishers Renewal Lady also informed me that my husband most likely BOUGHT a magazine subscription; she had no clue what I was talking about when I told her about my supposed 'balance'. Anyways, I called Area Circulation and they gave me the run around for about a half hour because they couldnt find my husbands order information. I kept insisting they told my husband that I had a balance so they sent me to their collections department and they couldnt find my information either. They told me to wait 24 hours because my order might have not come in yet. So today I decided to google these places and found all these horrible scams and rip-offs so I immediately called to cancel my debit card. I read from these other reports that they sell you subscriptions for a period of time under a contract and what not, so although I canceled my card I still felt the need to call them and cancel with them as well because I didnt want them to bill me if this contract stuff was true, mind you they did not mention any of this to my husband. So I called and a nice lady named Dorithean answered and although I was angry I calmly explained to her my situation. Even then she still tried to change my mind and offered a lower monthly rate. I was shocked when she told me that my husband had supposedly agreed to be billed 80 dollars a month. He would never do such a thing for some stupid magazines. I was like ma'am my husband was MISLEAD to believe that I owed a debt, that is the sole reason he gave you payment information. She finally agreed to cancel the order and I made her give me her name, my account #, and a confirmation code. I still feel scared somehow they are going to screw me over.
