U.S. Government
Ripoff of the single taxpaye

It is time for single American taxpayers to take a stand. For decades those of us who elect not to have a family have provided subsidies for those that do.

From larger, often double or more, tax breaks and incentives to the poorly contrived "earned income credit" we have simply become third party payers for the support of those with families.

How many times have you, as a single taxpayer, had to endure the glee spouted by a colleague, earning the exact wage for the same job, in regard to his several thousand dollar EIC refund on income that he payed NO wage witholding? Where does this refund come from? The money fairy? NO. It comes from the income we as single taxpayers pay in exorbitant rates.

It is not only EIC. It also involves larger deductions and tax credits for health insurance, those educating their children etc. Etc. Etc. This is on top of the majority of us paying a much higher contribution to employer health insurance plans because we are single. While it may appear the family rate is higher, divide the contribution among the average family size of 3-4 people and you will quickly see you are paying more.

Listen Joe and Jill Family. I did not elect to marry or have 2.5 children. I should not have to subsidize your income because you did so. If I elect to drive a Jaguar are you going to help make the payment?

It is time we forced the government to recognize that we demand to be treated fairly. If someone chooses to have a family then they should be prepared to make whatever sacrifices are required to support that family on THEIR OWN.
