I recieved a letter in the mail this afternoon. The envelope was what initially interested me because the front was my address (excepting my apartment number - the management and postal carriers know me so I get my mail regardless), typed in arial font but nothing else excepting a real stamp (not a metered one) postmarked from Aimeria CTP with "Paquete a Domicilio" also on the postmark.
I opened it to find that I had apparently 'won' a Spanish sweepstake lottery prize of US$615,810. Wow. The letter was signed in blue ball-point ink by (allegedly) a Dr. Mario Sanchez, and I was to contact my agent Don Pedro Gomez immediately so I could get my winnings.
I know this is just your typical 'Advance Payment' scam, according to all research. And besides, I have never left the US and don't know anyone who has ever been to Spain, so how could I possibly have won a Spanish lottery?
