Better Trades Aka Long Term Short Term
Better Trades, Long Term Short Term Ripoff, SIGN UP now & X is free! Free anyway! Fraudulent sales techniques, Unbusinesslike. A reputable company wouldn't resort to high pressure sales pitches and refusal to refund wary customers money

Attended FREE workshop in Baltimore, Maryland, after seeing Better Trades infomercial "Bringing Wall Street to Main Street." Excited about products and techniques to trade stocks and options. One thing troubled me — the "suggestion" that participants might want to move their 401K and IRA accounts into self-directed brokerage accounts... But I brushed this aside, thinking I wouldn't do that.

Busy all weekend and delved into the DVDs Monday. Tried to watch matching classes online. DVDs were poor quality and power point online class was audible, but not visible. Tech said my video card was corrupted. Not. One class was missing, but was told they would have it available next day. Next morning it was there, and the power point slides were fine... Both audible and visible.

In conversation with the tech, he said the audio cd's were good and Free with whole course fee. I was told if I were one of the first 3 people to sign up, the cd's were free. I'm sure they said to buy them was X amount of money, but the "catch" - only if you did not buy the whole course did they cost X. Also, "if you leave the room, this course will cost you $3995. I fell for it all... A sinking feeling began to fill my stomach, and I made some calls.

The Better Business Bureau of Southern Nevada said they were "quite familiar" with Long Term Short Term, Better Trades. The only problem is that they have many calls about them, but few people take the time to file a claim. They are listed as having an Original Start Date of July but have claims against them that date back to November..., 1 Contract issue and 1 Product quality issues, both resolved. Is Better Trades a new DBA name, or did they just register as a Business?

The Maryland State's Attorney General's Office said they would be glad to arbitrate a claim on my behalf, but only in Consumer Protection. The Securities Division of MD OAG says this company is not registered with them, but don't meet the standards which require them to register.., selling Business Opportunities - though they talk about having your own business and working 10-15 hours a week.

Then I read J from Tennessee's ripoff report and knew I had to ask them for a refund. They refused. Got a call from a young man, playing loud computer games in his "home office." He said "you WILL come to the seminar, you WILL make money, and IF you don't (1% of people do not) you can 'attempt' to get a refund in 6 months." The guarantee is income = 3x the course fee ($8985=3x2995) using their methods for 6 consecutive months. No mention is made of how much money you have that one is willing to invest, etc.

A reputable company wouldn't resort to high pressure sales pitches and refusal to refund wary customers money.

I am still requesting a refund, wouldn't you?
