Installer Plus Inc. Came down after the hurricanes to repair roofs when the state of Florida was allowing contractors to come in and help repair damage. We lost the flat roof over our garage as well as our neighbors. We could not at that time get the original roofers to come out we would have been on a year long waiting list.
My neighbor found Installers Plus Inc. And checked them out since they weren't from here. Everything seemed fine. They came out to replace the roof and at that time we hired ac people to come out at the same time to replace our ac unit which had blown up during the hurricanes.
We thought having both companies out there would avoid a situation later. The roofers and the ac guys got all the work done and we were relieved. Days later we had rain again and realized that the roof was leaking into our diningroom. We called Installers Plus back and they came out slapped some tar over the area and said that would take care of it. That spot wasn't getting enough sun so the it wasn't sticking like it should. Several days later the roof is still leaking and we called them back out and they again slapped some more tar over the area and torched it this time. We were alright for a little while and then as time went by we noticed that our ceiling was turning orange and starting to leak but this time not just water it was also all the tar coming in with the water.
We tried contacting the company and of course after saying that they oped up a business locally they were no longer located in Cocoa Cocoa Florida. We tried thinking of a way to get ahold of them, until then everytime it rained we had buckets catching water. I found our contract calling all the numbers on it and finally reached them. Told them what was happening and they hired a man by the name of Billy Thompson to come out and repair that same spot again. He apparently told Installers Plus that it was our air conditoner leaking but still slapped more tar over the area.
We sent Installers plus pictures showing them it wasn't the ac and they assured us they would get Billy Thompson back out to fix it. When this didn't happen I started calling more often trying to get someone out there. They told us we needed to get the leak fixed. We told them we were still under warranty and that was their job to get it to stop leaking. My husband then asked if we got it fixed would we be reinbursed for having to pay someone else. They said most likely not and that is the last we heard from them. They would not return phone calls or emails. I sent them a certified letter trying to find some solution to this matter and just monday I got it returned refused by them. They have no interst in helping us.
I reported them to the better business burea, where they just flat out lied. They have said that our warranty was void after a tropical storm came through Florida (not my area of florida) and that they came out 3 times to be nice, not once mentioning our warranty issue. They claim to have laid new material down which all they did was load the area with tar, tar and more tar. So when my roof started leaking again I had tar and water stains. Then calling us irresponsible home owners for not having the problem fixed. We did infact have it fixed by another contractor who had to come in and cut out our ceiling and repaired it from the inside out. We had mold growing around the area and the wood was ruined. We sent in a picture showing them exactly where it wasn't properly sealed and they had nothing to say. They have tried to blame their poor work quality on everything but themselves. Our neighbors had their roof done the same time and they had no ac put in and they also leaked in the same area, The better business burea won't even show the compliant so consumers can read it, they were unable to resolve the problem and I am determined to make every consumer aware of Installers Plus Inc and the horrible job they did. They do not own up to anything. The work is half assed and apparently they warranty doesn't mean anything it's just a piece of paper. Buyer beware you do not want this company working on your house. I will do everything in my power to make everyone aware of this situation.
