I had been with werner for close to 15 years, and the last 3-5 yrs it was progressively worse. They got to the stage of to hell with the employee (esp. The trainees, whom they used as slave labor) and what's the $ return?
A couple of years ago on a Friday nite I got into a vicious argument with a weekend supervisor, who reported me to His super. Neither one of them liked me even though we had never met face-to-face. His super on a Saturday morning called me every name in the book, questioned what I was doing to HIS trainees (not the company's, HIS) and told me that he was going to fire me as of Monday. He then told me to"have a good weekend".
Needless to say, I was under a lot of stress that weekend. When I got home Monday, my regular dispatcher told me I was on report, but not fired. That didn't help out, as I suffered a stress seizure that night. My CDL was revoked, and the minute the company heard about that, I was fired& no, I wasn't... They said I quit voluntiarly.
I tried to file a complaint against the supervisors with the company only to learn later that they lied to me when they said that "they had taken care of it". About a year later I got a letter and certificate through the mail saying I was an excellent employee and thanking me.
All the the present leadership cares about is their profit anymore, and to get it they will not hesitate to pull any methods available, be it ruining mine and my family's lives or using their trainees for slave labor. An investigation of this company is in order, but I gave up as I had better luck talking to my cats about it. Drivers beware!!
