In Oct. 2007 I had a doctor's appointment. I am a diabetic and am required by Federal D.O.T. Regulations to be under adequate doctor's care in order to be compliant with these regulations and be qualified to drive a commercial vehicle. Werner Enterprise refused to get me home for that appointment and I had to make another for the following month.
In November again Werner Enterprise would not get me home for this rescheduled appointment. I contacted my fleet manager who refused to reply to any of my questions. I contacted Werner Enterprise's driver relations dept. Who refused to get involved and referred me to my fleet manager's supervisor.
I told him that I was a diabetic and had an appointment and needed to know what they were going to do about getting me home for it. Half way through this conversation, his supervisor said I want to have a conference call me and him where they (Werner Enterprise) fired me.
All, I did attempt to get information on what they were going to do to get me home for a doctor's appointment and I was fired.
I heard that Nebraska extends discrimination lawsuit to 300 days while the Federal is 180 days. I was fired In November and need a real good law firm.
I do intend on suing Werner Enterprise for discrimination.
