Houston Police Department Sex Crimes Unit
Failure to serve and protect citizens, not processing forensic evidence as promised, phone harassment ripoff

Houston Police Department's sex crime unit does NOT consider evidence or properly process forensic evidence in order to serve and protect the public.

I was sexually assaulted in Houston, TX while there for 24 hours to tape a Judge Alex show. The show would not allow me to take any witnesses or traveling companions, flew me into Texas after hours (9PM) and put me in a hotel filled with Hurricane Katrina evacuees. I was there to sue Jose Antonio Sanchez, Jr, a registered sex offender, for property damages and expenses incurred during domestic violence and burglary conveyance incidents he had committed against me.

I was in Houston barely over 12 hours. I had no money, no transportation, and a one way ticket back to Orlando. I was in shock after the sexually assault and humiliation I suffered while in Houston.

I contacted Houston PD after arriving in Houston. I was informed to go to a hospital for a rape kit, which I did, only to be sent to several hospitals in the area (after waiting hours at each one) before someone finally came and took me to the Orlando Sexual Assault Treatment Center, where I underwent a physical examination, photos, STD testing, and completed a rape kit.

This is the police report submitted by Det. Mills of Orlando Sex Crimes Unit:

"While on an on call status I, Detective Mills XXXX, was contacted by Sergeant Ring XXXX, on 10-03. He advised me a victim had been sexually battered while she was in Houston Texas and wanted to pursue prosecution. Even though his occurred outside of OPD's Jurisdiction we were to assist with the investigation. I responded to the Sexual Assault Treatment Center and met with Officer Evangelista (1 -), and victim - . While waiting for other to respond I obtained a statement from the victim. She advised she flew to Houston Texas in order to appear on a court TV show. The suspect her ex-boyfriend also appreared for the show. He no resides on Chicago Ilinois. She arrived in Houston late on Friday 10-01 and met with suspect in order to get something to eat.

Both of them ate and consumed alcoholic beverages. The victim stated she had been drinking and also took Xanax pill. She left the restaurant with the suspect and they walked to her hotel, which was the Four Pointe Sheraton. The suspect walked her to her room and he sat on the couch. The victim sat on the end of the bed. He got up and gave her a good bye kiss and while doing so pushed her back onto the bed, he tried to pull her shirt up, he then pulled the victim's pants and underwear down to her knees. The suspect then forced her to have p - l/v&l intercourse against her will. He then ej&ted inside of her. The suspect told the victim that he loved her while doing this. He was not wearing a condom. She went on to say that he has done this to her previously but she never reported it. The victim stated they dated for a couple of months before he moved. He is also a registered Florida sex offender. The victim stated she was desparate for money and had to film the court TV show therefore she did not report it to law enforcement in Houston Texas. She did not have time to report it to law enforcement afterwards because her flight was to leave soon after the show was completed.

The victim advised she responded to several hospitals before contacting law enforcement in order to report this allegation. - responded to examine and gather evidence from the victim.

The victim sustained a tear in her v&l area at the six o'clock position. The evidence was placed into OPD Evidence under ET - A. I later contacted Houston Police Department...

From Case narrative by Officer Evanglista:
The suspect was supposed to walk the victim back to her hotel room and leave immediately.

Upon entering her hotel room, #4—, located at the Four Point Sheraton at 2828 Southwest Freeway in Houston, the suspect then pushed the victim onto the bed and had forcible intercourse with her... And then left..."

According to Detective Garcia of Houston PD, I've changed my story many times. Excuse me? I have never... The detective claims that I said Sanchez spent the night with me... I NEVER SAID THAT.

If HPD had pulled the tape from the Judge Alex show, they would have heard some of that story 'caught on tape.' Yet they did not do that or even question the witness I informed them about - the bartender at the restaurant we were at. Sanchez became obnoxious and the bartender had to cut off his drinks and make him leave. The bartender was concerned for my safety, but I told the bartender that Sanchez was to walk me back to my hotel, then leave. Sanchez refused to do that.

As for the rape kit and forensic evidence I submitted, HPD never even processed them. It is sickening. I do not want to live in a world where only minorites receive justice. HPD did NOT even pull Sanchez's crimnial record. I did - he was found guilty in 1991 of raping his date in a car.

So a sex offender's word is more credible than mine. I give up. I don't want to live anymore.

Maybe someone will use my story to sue the SOB's one of these days - HPD deserves it, as well as the Judge Alex show. Someone please sue these phonies paid by tax payer dollars who do not protect the innocent for my sons' sake. I am no use to them anymore!
