I moved from mainland China to US in March.
The visa I got is K1, me and my wife filed petition of adjustment of status right after we got married which is April. We paid all the application fee.
Feb we had an interview with an immigration officer in New Orleans.
He said he could have given me the "green card" that day, but the FBI is checking my background.
I am not sure if he is just kicking the ball or what.
Now, over 2 years later, I am still waiting for my green card. The bad thing is it is past the due date that USCIS has to process my case. That is what it is said in the immigration law. Nobody cares.
We called the call center, nobody knows what is going on.
We even talked to some foreigh speaking immigration officers. That doesn't help either.
Where is my case?
Where is my green card that I paid for?
Who knows
Every year I have to pay $185 to get a " work permit"
to work in US without a green card.
If the illegal immigrates can stay and get a citizenship.
What about me?
I am legal and have all the paper work.
I am waiting forever...
