Offered free magazines, then kept charging my checking account. Fraudulent ripoff business Connecticut

I had received a couple of phone calls from this company, awarding me with free magazines. I accepted, but about a month later, found a debit to my checking account of $19.95 on 3/25/02. I have contacted these people, letting them know that I cannot afford this service, and would appreciate my money returned, and all magazine subscriptions cancelled. They would not refund my money, but they keep charging my account, but have stopped the magazines.
