Berman Investment Group
Ripoff Scam

The Berman Investment Group Offers a free cd and book for a program on how to make money in a TV infomercial where they instruct you to visit their web site. On the first page of their web site you are required to enter such personal info as name & address, email, etc. Then you click next. This brings you to the second page. On this page you have what appears to be an itemized bill the only charge being a $3.95 shipping charge (fair enough), under this there is a place for your credit card info, Presumably to pay the $3.95 shipping charge (NOT QUITE!).

Under this is another next button, click this and presto your credit card is charged. I went through these steps back in mid January and the package arrived shortly afterwards. Being very Busy most of the time I just put it to the side. On march 9th while checking My credit card transactions I found a charge Dated march 9th for $99.90 from you guessed it, The Berman Investment Group.

When I called The Berman Investment Group to inquire about the charge I was told the charge was for all the extra stuff I received on a 30 day trial period. I was irate! I told her I had NEVER authorized any transaction for $99.90! And I wanted the charge taken off immediately. She said the charge was clearly posted in at least 3 places on the web site. (Where? Under next? I Never saw it.) then she proceeded to offer me the extra stuff for first $50 then $20. I said, NO and NO. She then said she would refund me the $99.90 if I returned it in a padded envelope with a return code and insured it for $100 (the same stuff they were willing to sell me For $20) Guess who has to pay the insurance and shipping, ME.

I also get to Take time off work to do this What fun or maybe I can just waste part of my Saturday Jumping through their hoops to return something I didn't want in the first place! It doesn't seen Quite rite does it?

And I also have to wonder how many people don't check their credit card transactions, get screwed and don't even know it? I just called them today so whether my $99.90 shows up back on my Credit Card remains to be seen.in closing I have to say if this is not a scam or out and out fraud it is at the very least intentionally misleading.
