Dexter Kunishige was hired to install fencing around the
property I purchased in Hawaii. He worked one and a half
days and took off with payment of $12,000. He kept
promising that he would be there at a certain time, but
never appeared. He said that he was there working when
called by phone, but he was not there. He asked for more
money to pay his workers, but payment according to the
contract was to be done upon completion of the fencing. He said that he would pay back what he owed, minus work already done.
He never did. He lies.
Dexter has a Hawaii state tax lien against him. Someone
who took him to small claims court in Hilo, Hawaii said
that Dexter has a bad reputation in that town. He
moves constantly so that he cannot be served. Others
are looking for him; he doesn't pay rent.
I hired an attorney to serve Dexter, but he had moved
by the time the sheriff arrived on Feb. 11. Dexter had
until Feb 10 to complete the job. He removed all his
tools and equipment from the property by Feb. 10.
Dexter lived in Henderson, Nevada in 1999 where Sears
and Mercury Finance Co have judgments against him.
He also has lived in Hilo, Hawaii and Kailua-Kona, Hawaii.
