I bought a 7 month old male French Bulldog sight unseen from Imogene Hines for $2000.00. I bought him on her so-called good reputation. He was delivered to me by one of her friends in crime, Everett Clamp. I am an established English and French Bulldog breeder, and am a member of the Better Business Bureau with a clean record. I trusted her to send me a breeding quality dog because that's how I do business.
When I picked the dog up, he walked with an odd gait and also had kennel cough. Both she and Everett Clamp said that she had microchipped him the night before, injuring him in the process. I believed her at the time because of her reputation as a show dog breeder.
Three weeks later, the dog showed no improvement. I contacted her and she told me to take the dog to a local vet (of her choosing.) I did. The veterinarian said that he had an elongated soft palate and OCD, a degenerative bone defect in his shoulder. Imogene had been nice up until the point I told her the vet report but when I told her, she turned mean. She told me to bring the dog back and she would take him to her vet. We did take the dog back.
At that time, she said she wouldn't breed any of her dogs to him either. We waited 3-4 weeks with no word from her. My husband called her and told her that he was taking a trip to Kansas later in the week and would stop by to pick up a dog or our money and 2 days later we received a call from the Oklahoma police saying that we did not have the right to come to her house and that if we did, we would be arrested and that my husband was harassing her by calling her.
It has now been several months. We are in the process of filing felony stealing charges against her. She has the dog, (which we don't want) and our $2000.00. She will not give us another dog or our money back or return our phone calls.
I am a breeder with integrity. I am shocked that this has happened to me. I can't believe that someone can be so dishonest and allowed to show dogs or even breed them. I am going to try to do waht I can to legally stop her. Dishonest dog breeders make honest one's look bad. We need to stand together to stop her. She is ruining our reputation by being dishonest for her own personal gain.
