My family wanted to buy a boston terrier as a pet. We searched the internet and found a website that advertised animals for sale. We searched the listings and pictures for a week. We came to diane darvis's add for a male boston puppy.
The add looked great. We contacted diane and within a few days decided to buy the dog. Diane told us that there was a health guarantee for the dog. That he had had 2 out of three of his "puppy" shots.
We were told we would get all of the paperwork with the puppy when he got here to California. We never got any shot records with the puppy.
When the puppy arrived he was not injured. He had diarrhea in his cage and on his body. His hair looked very dull and dirty. We cleaned him up and took him home.
The puppy had bad diarrhea. I let it go for a day then called the vet the next am. Less that two days from his arrival he had blood in his diarrhea and was pretty raggedy looking and very tired.
For the next month and a half we struggled to rid the little guy of hookworm and giardia. The vet at Creekside Vet in Capitola CA assured us that he could not have contracted these during his trip or since he got here to CA.
We then got a second opinion from another vet and she said the same thing. I e-mailed diane numerous times at first asking her what she thought about the diarrhea. Then later asking her for some sort of explanation and info on her "heath guarantee".
It was so hard to get this lady to respond to my e-mails. I finally got some word from her saying that she could not reimburse me the whole amount of the vet bills. That she would send payments and that the first fifty dollars was already on its way. She asked me to send a copy of the vet bills and I did.
Needless to say I never got any money from this lady. Nor any paperwork on the puppy. I did get an application for the AKA for "a" puppy. It was from a person named Joe Decker.
The application was for a different colored puppy than the one we had. I put another call into Diane. She answered and said she would call me back. She never did.
We paid 1,000.00 all together for the animal and shipping. Then within a month had spent 500.00 more on the giardia and hookworm.
We are not rich people and 500.00 is a lot of money for us. Not to mention that we have a 2 year old around a really sick puppy.
