KP Construction - Ken Proffit - Kenneth B. Proffitt ripoff Unsatisfactory work, verbal abuse, property damage, dishonest fraudulent billing

Signed a Contract with KP Construction aka Ken Proffitt on November 29 and now 7 weeks later, job still not completed. We gave him half the money upfront to buy materials. Needless to say, materials were not all purchased in the beginning, because now the sub-contractor is short materials to finish the job. Of course, Ken Proffitt has no money to purchase materials now, so we have had money and time out of our own pocket to help complete this job.

Listed below are just a few of the things we have went through with Ken Proffitt.

Job was done in an untimely manner and not started or completed by dates on proposal. This was due to excessive illness and excuses by KP Construction, which in turn caused inconvenience and stress to the customer.
Job was sub-contracted on January 5 after I requested to dismiss KP Construction from job.
Sub-contractor was improperly informed by KP Construction on what was required to completed job and was not given all the materials to completed job in a timely manner.

Unprofessional conduct and verbal abuse towards customer and sub-contractor by KP Construction on January 5 regarding drywall installation.

Unsatisfactory work conducted by Ken Proffitt on January 5, i.E. V new weather stripping to front entry door, mortar repair on front step and dormer window aligned properly. Customer will have to hire another contractor to fix unacceptable work, which will result in an additional cost to customer.

Unnecessary dirt and stains to customers carpeted steps and landing during material delivery by KP Construction. KP Construction acknowledged the unnecessary damage and was to do additional work for gratis to make up for their mistake. The work performed was on the above mentioned repairs and done unsatisfactory, which resulted in an additional cost to customer for having steps and landing cleaned, front door weather stripping installed correctly so it doesnt fall out every time you open the door and fix the mortar repair that was done incorrectly. The dormer window is repairable, but KP Construction just didnt want to take the time and deal with it.

Wrong material purchased for job, i.E. V hinges and latches for doors. Customer had to go and purchase correct hardware so sub-contractor could finish job. Again, an additional cost to customer.

Job site was not cleaned up properly and on a daily basis. KP Construction was responsible for removing debris. This started to become a hazard in my backyard with a small child around. Customer had to purchase construction garbage bags for debris removal and remove the debris from our property ourselves. Another cost to customer and additional stress. KP Construction was on site twice while debris was been placed in the backyard, walked by the pile numerous times and never once acknowledged the debris or attempted to remove it from the property.

Damage to customers property by KP Construction on January 4. Ken Proffitt damaged our yard by backing his trailer and truck through our yard after a heavy rain leaving a large gully. He never acknowledged this to the customer or offered to fix. Several people witnessed this incident. This will be another cost to the customer to repair the yard.

In conclusion, KP Construction and Ken Proffitt did not conduct themselves in a professional manner and did poor quality work.

The sub-contractor has been very professional and has worked to try and finish the job in a timely manner given the verbal abuse he has had to endure from KP Construction.

I am satisfied with the job performed by the sub-contractor, but not by KP Construction and Ken Proffitt.

We feel as the customer, we went far and beyond to accommodate KP Construction on this job.

Ken Proffitt even went as far as to rip-off the sub-contractor by shorting him his pay twice.
