I guess I can say that I'm in the same boat as all of you that got caught up in this scam. I was told that if I pay the $249.00 and got started with this card that it would help my credit rating by paying on time and then it would increase to $4000 after 3 months. I was also given the operator number of 1000 which obviously doesn't mean crap.
I had recently called them about 3 weeks and asked the operator why it was taking so long for me to recieve my card and I was told that the processing center that handles all the cards was located in Texas. I was also told that because of Katrina, there were 10,000 cards that were lost in the process so it could take up to a week more for my unsecured Matercard to arrive.
Upon waiting for the arrival of my card, I tried several times to get in contact with that toll free number and all I got was a recording stating that the number I was trying to reach is not avaliable in my calling area. I contacted my bank yesterday and they are willing to file paperwork to investigate further in this matter.
I hope for all of you that got ripped off like myself, your banks are willing to provide all they can to help you out.
