I was contacted several times by Star communications stating that I had been chosen to recieve a $500 shopping spree package.
This package was to include shopping vouchers to be used at major retailers found in most shopping malls across the country. I was told i would receive the package via UPS, and that there would be a fee of $4.95 for shipping and handling.
I received a call 2 days later stating my information had been deleted and that i needed to resubmit my information via phone conversation. At that time i asked that the transaction be cancelled, and was promptly hung up on. Within days my checking account was debitted $119.00 from Half price TV, an offer i had never heard of, but also the $4.95. Due to the $119.00 debit, the $4.95 charge was returned by my bank and an nsf charge was also taken from my account.
The $4.95 charge was submitted on 3 seperate occasions and as a result is responsable for clost to $200 in charges from my bank. When i called the customer service number i demanded a refund and was told i could expect one in 4-6 weeks. I won't be holding my breath, but i will be contacting authorities and my bank in hopes of untangling the mess they left my account in.
Please... If you receive a call regarding this offer, hang up!
