This is purely a case of poor craftsmanship, no quality, with very bad design flaws.
This is parallel to the defects, breakdowns and unwarrantable componments that consumers are plagued with when owning a GM product. GM has no valid repair for some of these problems.
This makes any warranty defective. Causing return of same vehicles with same malfunction to repair faclity.
Only for the customer to be mislead into the cause or cure of the fix / repair or replacement of the fault. (Fault)= part, compomnent, item, unit, or any part of that without does not make a whole.
In other words if the failure is, the vehicle is either unsafe, inoperable and unrepairable or all of the above.
Unknown to the general public the manufacturer recall is a feeble attempt to 'forced' on them to correct the fault.
I bought a Chevrolet Siverado Z71 4x4 LT Extended cab.
Paid over $30.000 for it.in under 16000mi the dealer package 1st fraud, front tire blew off. Tires: Firestone LT245/75-16 Steeltex A/T's. To the Dealer Mossy Chevrolet on the 9000mi service I brought to their attention this unsafe combination of tire and vehicle.in plain site tire failure. The sidewalls of 3 tires where peeling off. Service idiot advisor quoted driving up against curb damage.
3ooo mi later front tire failure. Lost sidewall all. Grinded rim on asphalt swerved into curb. Loss of tire and rim. 850mi later 2nd tire blows out in driveway!
Dealer said see Firestone, Firestone reffered back to dealer. End result $758.29 to put tires on truck.
(NOTE) This vehicle has manufacturer towing package: Tow / Haul with all the extras wiring harrness, hitch special tow / haul shift lever on steering column. {STIKE ONE}.
12000mi. Sevice notified service dept. Of truck had a complete failure of the ABS braking system. I had to use both legs to slow down. One on the brake pedal one on the parking brake. 600-700 yards to stop. Pedal flat on floor. Let off pushed again same but with pulsing motion felt through brake pedal. Engine shaking during this time. Truck would not fully stop. It remedied itself
before I ran over something or someone.
1500MI service oil & filter basic. I advised the service dept. Of exhaust noise [leak] coming from driverside exhaust manifold. Mossy Service Advisor' s response uncritical.
17156mi. Back to Mossy Chevrolet. This time exhaust system pushing and puffing air through large visable cracked manifold. {Important} Make sure when issues arise force service writer to document your statements of problems.
By making them documment the issues that can be used against them in a civil court hearing in verying degrees of neglegence.
500mi later ABS Brake system failure again. Same as before but not for the same duration. Very bad. Very serious danger to the public if this is happening with other like vehicles.
18659mi. On a 20mi round trip WOW. Traveling on I-5 North bound from Encinitas to Oceanside at appox. 1130 am suddenly I started to slow down. I'm in the no. 2 lane was traveling @ 65mph. RPM went to 6000! Truck slowing but have the same pressure on the gas pedal. Let off the pedal rpm went to 800rpm.;cars sweving around me. I applied pressure again to gas pedal transmission regained some of its force but was not matching the RPM's the engine was delivering.
Limped home barely by cutting corners and shear luck.
Had truck hauled to Mossy Chevrolet they informed me that the tranmission is seriously in need of get this: dis-assembly and spreadinding out parts of unit.
This was left on my answer machine along with a request to authorize removal of transmission.?
This vehicle is under full warranty with a GM Protection Plan inforce. I called the service dept. @ 5:03 missed the contact for response to their request. [BUT] Left my words exactly to their recording in service dept. "I AUTHORIZE GM / CHEVROLET MOSSY (DEALER) to repair that problem @ their expence ASAP. Minus a $100.00 rip-off deductable. 4 days will turn into 5,6 who knows how long
before they can fix, repair or replace something that is flawed to begin with. Basically they will not be phisically able to deliver a solution to the fault they have created.
Thus the advertizing, the warranties, the statements made by people and or representatives under the employment by dealer selling, delivering offering for sale faulty, poorly designed unrepairable mechandice to the general public is a fraud when these failures in design are known to the manufacturer and issued in service bulletins to the dealers by the manufacturer. Also known as RECALLS.
If these practices continue the public in general will be damaged to the extent unknown.
Remedy should not be through class action. This will not be of any value to the public just the law firms.
I suggest very harsh civil penalties and fines with an immediate injuction against GM, CHEVROLET, & DEALERS of the products when found to be so defective that the loss to people is in their time money and safety rendering hardship to families of the miidle to lower working class of the general public.
Opinion: Fraud and Deseption is ruining this county in every aspect of bussiness. Healthcare, Defense contractors on & on if in doubt go to the website of the us. Justice department and look at their reports on white collar crime and fraud in America
