This complains is regarding my visit I made at DCH Brunswick Toyota in North Brunswick. I brought my car for AIR BAG sign problem at DCH Brunswick Toyota on Wednesday July 20th. I had brought my car at DCH (at 8:30) to find out why my cars air bag sign was always on. I met Ms. Carol (Assistant Service Manager) and told her the reason for my visit. I also mentioned that if my car wasnt going to be fixed n next 3 hours then I would like to get a loner car. She told me I would have to pay $ 35 per day if I need a loner car. I waited for a while but then when it got late I decided to drop my car and get a loner car. I had to sign few papers and then I left to work.
I called DCH about 3 in the afternoon to find out the status of my car. I spoke to Ms. Carol to what she responded, There is no status as of yet.
I was little frustrated to hear this. I had left my husbands cell number with Ms. Carol, so that she can call him when my car was ready to pick up. Ms. Carol called my husband about 4 to get his permission, as my car needed road test to which he said yes. I called DCH again at 5:30 and found out my car wasnt ready. So I came to DCH straight from work. I met Ms. Carol and told her that I am not ready to pay $ 35 every day. I didnt know when my car was going to get fixed. Ms. Carol would not give me guarantee that it will be fixed by tomorrow or day after that. I told her I want to take my car back. She tells me that I am not giving enough time for the technician to get the problem fixed. Now if the technician cant fix the problem in 10 hours how can I be sure then he will fix it by next morning. Next thing she tells me is that the technician had taken my car to his home. I was shocked to hear that. I asked the reason and she tells me that my husband gave her the permission for road test. I said yes to road test, not for your tech to take home. Now is this something new that DCH started? A home work shop? What is the tech going to do to my car at his home? Shouldnt Ms. Carol notify me about this? I do not care how much you trust your tech but I sure do not like the idea of my car being taken at the techs home. Also while the tech is taking my car to his home and the car get in an accident, who is responsible for it? DCH, your tech, or me?
Ms. Carol wasnt polite at all. She gave me really hard time. She called the tech that was still at DCH and finally he got my car back. I still cant believe that you let your tech take customers car at his home. Ms. Carol made me sign few papers and charged me $ 106 saying that was for the diagnostic test they ran on my car. Ms. Carol never mentioned about this charge when I left my car in the morning. All she said was it should be covered under the warranty. Also my car was never fixed. I still get the air bag sign then why would you charge for something that was never fixed? So nothing get fixed, whole day full of frustration and on top of that I paid $106 for nothing at all.
I cannot describe in words how frustrated I was. Now this isnt the end. This was just my last visit. Let me tell you about my previous visit at DCH.
Every single time I visited DCH I had ended up paying almost $ 400. I would go for a regular $ 30 oil change and the tech will find 50 problems. Here are some of the charges they added at my oil change visit.
$ 84 to change pollen filter which the tech found to be very dirty
$ 169 for trans flush
$ 69 for differential oil
$ 54 for throttle body
Now I dont understand one thing and that is are Toyota cars not good or is it just me who cant keep my car running smoothly? I used to have 1994 Toyota tercel, which was used model, and I had it for 6 long years. I never had any single problem with it. I loved that car. My experience with Tercel made me buy Camry 2003. Now my new Camry 2003 gets more services and gets so and so party dirty or needs replacement every 6 month. Is it I causing my car all these problems or it was just a bad luck that I bought a not so good running car.
Every time I had brought my car at DCH, I had mentioned about the air bag sign on. Every single time someone would tell me to bring my car back and that I wouldnt have to pay for it. This time I did bring my car ONLY and ONLY for the air bag sign and Ms. Carol charged me $ 106.
I had paid all my charges in the past without any complains. But this time it was a limit.
4 visits, so many hours and still no one was able to figure out the problem. I must have spent almost $ 1000 so far in last 1 year at DCH and the service was below expectation. I am not asking for full refund or anything but why would you guys rob your customers? I am sure I am not the only one who suffers like this. While some chose not to open their opinion or anger I chose to do it.
I am sorry to tell you this but DCHs employees are very inconsiderate, and rude. They have absolutely no idea what customer service is. I dont know how many happy customers you have but as far as I am concerned I am one unhappy customer of DCH who will never visit DCH, who will never recommend buying or servicing car at DCH to anyone else.
If these complain mean anything to anyone, I would hope to know the reason behind these charges, and what will you be doing to improve the service.
