If you are a employee of JB Hunt BEWARE!

I was employed at JB Hunt on the dedicated Budweiser account and on April 26th I was travelling on I80 near the Indiana border when I came upon a accident scene involving a tanker truck that had crashed into the East/West concrete divider wall and spilled its unknown contents all over the East bound lanes in which I was travelling. This was around 7 A.M. And shortly after rolling through the unknown liquid that was covering the road I developed blisters on my face and lips and was also sweating badly and could not catch my breath, so I immediately conacted dispatch, told them what had happened and soon parked until I felt better.

I delivered my load and thought it best to take my 10 hour break and head back to St. Louis in the morning, when I arrived there, night dispatch encouraged me to see my doc just to get checked out, I did so the same day, without knowing what was in the tanker, my doc said to take a week off and wait for a accident report to see what had caused the problems.

I then contacted all the appropriate JB personnel and contacted Workmans Comp department sho assured me that they would send a check asap and that I had to get cleared by their doc before I could return to work.

I was released by my doc on Friday. The accident was the previous Tuesday, still no accident report but my blood tests showed negative and I was ready to get back to work only to be told that I had to be released by their doc and also they could not send a check until they had a acident report. They were also advising me that they checked and there was not one to get and they were not wasting anymore time looking for one, basically saying that there was not a accident and I was lying about the whole thing!

Since I live in St. Louis and the accident happened in Chicago, I had to hire a lawyer to help retrieve a accident report which royally pissed off JB and I was soon stuck in a loop with their doc not releasing me to work and recieving a letter from JB that I had a certain date to return or I was terminated.

The funny thing is their doc would not release me before that date so they were basically terminating me but covering their own asses. To this date, there has still been no accident report filed and I have since started working for a great outfit out of Kansas City, Ks.

To sum it all up, I went to the doc to get a shot of Benedryl and get back to work and ended up in a months long battle for my job which I ended up losing. This is not a slam on the people or personnel at the St. Louis terminal; in fact, they were very supportive during this time but they had to obey the orders by Corporate in Lowell, Arkansas.
