As a self-identified consumer advocate, I must warn those in the continental U.S. That "let the buyer beware" now has new meaning for our family. Our test case has proven that not all internet scammers are alike. Some are very intelligent and experienced!
LOOK: We ordered an ATV import off of a very impressive Web site, interviewed the company owner on the phone and a few weeks later ultimately cancelled the order [per company policy], for a variety of reasons. HOWEVER, we received a bad check in the mail, demanded guaranteed funds (since we originally guaranteed the purchase with wired cash), and gave the business the benefit of the doubt by agreeing days later to receive a Western Union wire transfer refund.
After attempting to get the money back for two weeks, we still do not have the $1100 given to Doro Motors'Benjamin Vaughn.
DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM GASRIDES.com. The last communication I received is the company is "going out of business." Is this just another creative attempt to use other people's money? Time will tell.
FYI: The matter has been turned over to the appropriate authorities for prosecution, if necessary.
