Vector, Business To Business Becoming an Executive Scam Artist

Well, well, well I finally have the oppurtunity to tell my story. I worked at this company for several weeks. I realized the scam long before I left, I only stayed so long because I was trying to stick it out. Like most of these other marketing companies they "5 stepped" me. This means, they presented me with a pitch to make me think I was becoming involved in a good job opportunity.

Like other marketing companies, the office consist of three rooms/offices and very few chairs. And of course, there is the dungeon. The dungeon is actually a water logged basement that contains all the cheap crap that "you" are suppose to sell. Oh, and beware of the fleas and other flying insects that live down there.

Of course, the interview last no more than 15 mins. And if you seem gulliable enough, your invited for a second round interview. Sorry, if your over 21, you might not be asked back. You might figure out the scam to quick.

Now, your second round interview will last all day. Come chipper and "juiced" up. You'll come back to this hole in the wall and basically sign your day away. You will leave the office by nine am and either stand all day or walk around the city. Your task for the day is to help sell crap to unsuspecting shoppers. And if they don't want your crap you make them want it. You act as the pushy sales person we all have grown to hate.

If you still look like your intrested, your asked to start the next day. Don't bother asking questions, they won't be directly answered. You don't find out answers until ooooohhh, several weeks after you've become knee deep in the shhhhh.

A) You don't recieve a salary especially if your an intern. You only make the two dollars off of every item you sell. Soo, sell everything in you bin so that you can make atleast twenty.

B) They supply "transportation" to locations far beyond the office location. This includes: across the bridge, upstate, and hell even the next state south. Do they ask you where you feel comfortable? Of course not your expected to be comfotable at a location far from home and of course, by your lonesome.in THE EVENT SOMETHING SHOULD HAPPEN YOU ARE BY YOURSELF UNTIL SOMEONE COMES TO PICK YOU UP!

*Oh, you will have a negative experience, but your asked not to bring any negativity into the office. You might be verbally assulted by a customer who just didn't want to see you today. Or better yet, you might be thrown out of a store because (unlike what you were told) the store didnt know you would be selling items at your table. The store just thought you would be sitting there looking pretty all day. Hmmm, when a store says "No soliciting, " the funny thing is they mean it. And if the store decided to call the police, guess what, you can be arrestted. YEAAAAAAA!

C) Even though they say transportation is provided, you still have to pay to be taken anywhere. Oh, that's a hoot because, they tax write the commute anyway.

D) Ohh, don't expect to be treated like a real employee. Your not suppose to know the dirty little secrets until you reach management level. So be prepared for someone to follow you to the bathroom, check on you if your in the bathroom for more than a minute, greet you as soon as you open the front door, follow you out the front door when you leave, senior employees babysit you to be sure you don't try any exploring within the small company walls and last but not least your prevented from talking to any other employee about the job.

Well, good luck on your new adventure with EMC Executive Marketing concepts. Enjoy!

And don't try to escape the company, we're everywhere and go by many alias.
