Fraud/Misleading/Scam GLM "Solutions" and Marketing is a scam, stay away

This is a complete waste of time unless you enjoy being driven out into the suburbs of Chicago and working nearly 12 hours a day, selling a pitch door-to-door to try and get people to upgrade their AT&T plans.

I should have known something was up when you look at their website and they don't tell you what GLM stands for or really what they do. They just tell you what they're looking for in individuals and that they're a marketing company. They say they work with fortune 500 companies and work with clients face to face. I figured this would be maybe in an office or something not meeting client at their homes with a sales pitch. They work a pyramid scheme making you walk door to door to sell by trying to build you up by telling you you'll eventually be leading a team, managing others, and that they only promote from within. If this isn't for you don't even show up for the interview, it's a complete waste of time if you have half a brain with any degree. They're a company trying to milk the of the name of a legit company and just using and abusing account executives. That's why they're on every job website with about 3 postings a day, because once people figure it out they leave.
(if you dont want to read the process, just go below for bullet points on things they do)

Their process,

They call you a day after you submit an application and want to schedule an interview. Which isn't weird until you actually show up there. When you walk down this tiny office in the basement of a rather nice building you'll run into two women there. Sarah, the main secretary is incredibly sweet and makes you feel very comfortable talking to her. However, you'll sit there because "one of the other people doing the interview had something come up so they're running late" but they're just trying to see how you interact with everyone in the office and waiting room.

Finally, when your name is called you'll meet this overly cocky guy named Chris who doesnt really ask you many questions. The usual small talk (which is what everyone is taught to do there) then he'll begin his pitch about the company talking very quickly as to try to confuse you. He may ask you your top 3 reasons for being there but wont ask more than maybe 3 questions to you which is weird because it seems like he's not trying to get to know you at all like most real interviews. The "preliminary interview" is literally listening to him giving his pitch on the company. The whole process doesn't take more than about 5-7 minutes, odd no doubt. He says if they want you back they'll call you at a specific time that day for a 2nd interview where they walk you through a typical day with a "senior account executive."

2nd interview,

When he said i'd be getting walked through by a "senior account executive, " i expected someone much older with experience. This kid was not 2 years older than me and had only worked there less than a month. And when Chris said they'd "walk you through a typical day" they literally meant walk you through the day. Here is where you get taken out to lunch (which you pay for) and given the speech on what they do. After lunch you'll be dropped off shadowing someone walking from house to house and pretty much shown how to give speeches on selling until 8pm. Then you'll get picked up and go back to meet Chris after walking around for 6 hours and take an "written exam."

So unless you want to be a door to door sales man for a couple months and REALLY believe you'll be promoted to managing a team in other cities doing the same scheming thing, save your day. The "senior account executives" were still out selling door to door just like the "account executives", what does that tell you.

1) They pride themselves on recruiting desperate college graduates seeking work
2) They work on a pyramid scheme trying to buy you into the order of work to be "promoted"
3) You get paid ONLY from commission. No sale, No pay. Average for a week is between $400-600, and you're working from literally about 8am-8pm.
4) They like to give you the run around so be sure to ask questions and be aggressive in getting an answer.
5) If you say this isn't for you, they'll work another pitch on you so if really want to leave just leave.
6) There has been claims that Chris was taking part of peoples commissions check.

Save your time, don't show up. I didn't get a degree and want to work downtown so i could be driven out to the suburbs to sell crap people don't need.
