I want to give some information on the scam.By reading the following you can identify the scam easily.
First of all I had my reservations because I when I came into the office there was loud music blasting in the next room from 97.1 or some local hip hop channel. Anwyay,
Basically I went in for the interview, filled out a very short one page, poorly print application. Went in for a interview with Sergio Mendoza and did a group interview with one of other girl who by the way didn't come back for whatever reason. I was told to call a number at a certain time to find out if I was chosen. I called and was chosen.
I came back two days later for a second interview in which Curtis Culpepper gave a group of us a vague description of the company and what we'd be doing. We sat on folding chairs that had been rented as the label on the chair said rental.
He told us info like who the founder was, Larry Hahn and how he and some other guys are mad rich. I wasn't impressed as I was there for the experience.
He told us the company was the largest distributor of Colona perfume. That the profit margin was high due to a 99% mark up or something like that.
He said there are no fees, start up kits, or telemarketing, oh and no inhome sales. He said we get paid to learn for the 1st two phases we get $175-400 and the second two phases $250-500 and the third weekly profit sharing. He said average income in 52,000 a year and goes up from there each year.
He said we would learn basics, training and evaluation, management, and administration in those 60-90 days. After training we will know how to open and close an office, handle money, books, and inventory, oversee staff, interview, and handle day to day operations.
He said 25 locations are needed to be opened across America.
He gave background on how Larry Hahn started things back in 1974 in Atlanta Georgia in order to make merchandise that was otherwise unavailable to the market / stores. Quality and quantity were a problem so he decided to be the manufacturer and start his own perfume company due to perfumes being un-patenable.
The perfumes come in 3.3 oz and the products get to consumers via business to business territory.
He said there are four ways to sale product: wholesale for resale, employee discount, promotional use, and internet. He said there are three ways to get paid: cash on sales, daily bonus, and weekly profit sharing. There are three vacations a year.
He mentioned shuttles during training but was vague about the agenda when I asked during the interview.
He said generally the managers are age 18-25 he never really said why.
After giving us all this info. He calls us in room one by one and asks me three more questions then says im hired and i start monday from 11-1pm.
I've read many stories like mine and will go on Monday just to confirm what I've read so I know for myself and can begin posting flyers that I will print up from reading others' stories. I am sold that this is a scam and will unfortunately find the truth to be so on Monday.
I really wanted to get free training so i can grow. So much for that.
