Dec. 22 I clocked out of work. All of a sudden two assistant Managers came up to me and a friend of mine. They said they needed to talk to me and I needed to clock back in. I did so and we went into the store managers office.
It was me, the assistant, and the head of LP from another state. The LP was talking about stealing and integrity. I didn't know what was going on for a little bit. She told me that another person was being questioned at the same time. The other person was my dept. Mgr./ friend. Most of what was said and done is kinda a blur.
I was so confused. Any way LP kept insisting that they had on tape that I was stealing. And she kept pointing to herself saying "do I look stupid" And just a lot of intimidation until i filled out and signed a paper. Here is some of what i can remember writing. "Items were marked down at extra clearance prices." " reg. Priced items were marked at clearance prices."
"I did purchase 3 out of the 5 items" NO. 1- I never said I marked items down. No. 2- I didnt mark these items down. No. 3 I honestly thought that if your store didnt carry an item. That you could mark it down when you got extra mark down money.
We didnt carry uniforms, when we would get them in the dept. Mgr. Would mark them down. I bought several because they were my little girls size. But other sizes were marked down also that I didn't buy because they were not the right size.
Any way, the dept mgr. Signed a confessional. And filled out a repayment form for 1,500 dollars. They started her bid at that. My bid was started at 500.00. I started to write 500 and couldn't do it. Then LP said do you believe it was 400. Again I started to write that in, still couldn't do it, then she intimidated me some more, and said what about 300.00. Finally I gave in. Then she asked why I did it. I didn't know what to say.
Through out this whole process I was confused. So she gave me multipal choice, " did I do it drugs " " or alchol " " or money " so I put money. That sounded like the best answer to me.
After LP walked out of the room I looked at the asst. And said I've been railroaded. A police officer came and wrote me a ticket. I had a cotinuance at court. I go back tommorrow 3/16/05. I will get a court appointed lawyer. I don't have enough money to fight wal-mart. So I'll probly do community service, pay wal-mart 300.00, and court fines.
I wish that I wasn't so easily intimidated. It cost me so much. Please people I implore you never ever sign anything without a lawyer. Especilly at crooked wal-mart. Please get in touch if you were in similar circumstances. I'll do what I have to for now. But I won't let it rest. I'll keep looking for people done wrong by the HIGH AND ALMIGHTY WALLY WORLD.
