Dear Sir:
I'm writing to you about this contractor that was hired back last year in May on the 18th to add a 20x20 addition to our existing bedroom and this project hasn't been done as of yet. And we want to know what we can do
about him and to get our money back. He hasn't made any attempt to show us that he's willing to do this job or anything else. So, I'm hoping that you can help me or who I can write to that can help me. I've got forms for the Consumer Complaint Board and License Board, and they went off today.
We got the forms last month and the reason we didn't send them off is because we were told that this guy was coming out to do the job. And that day hasn't gotten here as of yet. I work my butt off for that money not to just throw it away like that. I'm retired from the civil service and I'm not making that much to begin with. I had to drop my health insurance, because I
wasn't making enough, for my insurance went sky high. And I had to take an early out due to medical, and I'm not old enough for Medicaid or anything else for I'll be 55 next month. My son-in-law has been corresponding with this guy, but he never got back with our son-in-law just like he did us. He never kept us you or anything, like he promised. But he told my son-in-law that he wanted to finish the room, but hasn't made any edge way in doing so. And I can't see us having to go through this again with another contractor. And he has told my son-in-law that he would have his crew out here every day working until this addition was completed.
Well, he had a few guys out here working, they worked a pretty good while on the 7th of January, got the room
closed in. Then came back out here on the 14th of January worked a little, left and never came back. Then on the 17th of January, Allen, himself came out here to work and work all day, fixing the stuff he said that his 2 guys messed up. He got that fixed, but never came back out after that. He would say he would be out, but never came back. And here's what I have to say about this contractor that got our money, but never came back to do what he was paid to do in the first place. And I only hope that something can be done about this guy in order to get our money back. On the 11th of February, this Allen called my son-in-law, Brandon and told him that he
would be out some time Monday on the 14th, but never showed.
The 15th of February a customer, plus a worker that works at the KOA Campground where this Allen lives came in where my husband runs his shop and told my husband
that this Allen was just sitting on his butt not doing anything. And 2 of his (Allen's) workers came up to this Allen and ask him if there was anything for them to do. For they had nothing to do. And he said no. Now why
is he saying this, when there was something for them to do. Like work our room. I'd be willing to let him take his materials he put up, just so we can get our money back. Here's how this came all about on this contractor.
I know this email is sorta long, but I just wanted you to know how we were done by this guy. My husband, Andy; hired this contractor to add a 10x20 room onto our existed bedroom. This contractor, Allen R. Weiber, (guess that's how its spelt), A to Z Contractor
gave him an estimate of $7,000.00, but told my husband he had to have money down for materials. The contractor told my husband that the addition would take a week and a half. So, my husband gave him $6,000.00 for the said
materials. Well, the contractor bought some materials, but NOT all of them. He had enough money to buy all of the materials he needed, before the materials went up. So, he says. So, the contractor bought and laid the
concrete foundation down, for he said this way it would be built up (and it's cracked/chipped in several places). And that was to be fixed by the contractor, but never was fixed. And that's all that the contractor has
built, besides it being framed and now closed in.
I took pictures of what it look like then and now. And the wood is getting to where it's discolored, coming lose in several places and etc. All this addition has been was a trash catcher and not a bedroom, for that's what we paid to have built, was a bigger bedroom. And he has said that he would charge us for hauling his trash off, that he leaves behind. Now that's not right in my book. A contractor that makes a mess should clean up after themselves. Wouldn't you agree!!!
He would always tell us that he would call us and inform us of what's going on, but he never did. He never came out, never kept us informed and etc. We were also coming back from vacation last July and we talk to him by our cell phone and he told us that he would have a big
difference in our room, that the wall leading from our window to this new addition would be to where we could walk through it. But when we got home, the window was still there. For he never did anything to it. You could and still can't get this guy to do anything. My husband has talked to him, left messages and etc., but still this contractor, Allen never kept his word. We
had to borrow this money and have paid more back, especially with interest, than he has working on the room. He hasn't worked on that room since the
later part of August before Hurricane Ivan and here it is January. And when he did work on in the later part of August, he maybe worked an hour, or maybe not that long and made up an excuse and NEVER came back.
It seems as if he took our money and never did any work. We'd like to know how we can nab this contractor, for he doesn't keep his word like he says he does. For we'd like to know what we can do about this matter. This isn't right to us, for we work hard like everyone else for our money for some person such as this to just take it. This contractor Allen would have more excuses than Carter has liver pills. My husband and son-in-law went over on January 5th and my husband wanted to find out what was going on about the room. Well, my husband said Allen came out showing his butt and told my husband that he has washed his hands with our room and that we'd have to find another contractor. Now again this isn't right, for this would cost us again an arm and leg on money we don't have. Now is there any way we can get our money back. Not only the $6,000.00 he got, but also he got money which was over $600.00 on a job he did for our insurance company. And we have ask him every since September. For he was told to give us a receipt and he never did, for we had to turn all of this into our insurance company. We have ask him a numerous amount of times, but he always had some kind of

Something needs to be done about him, before he does this to someone else.

961-1717. So, he's not too far from us to be out here doing his job on what he was hired to do. I don't know if he has a license, he says he does, insurance and etc., but I never have seen it and neither has my husband. So, how do we know he's telling the truth, since he's lied on everything else. I only hope you can help us on this, before it happens again. I hope that I
have told you enough about this guy that something can be done. We have given this Allen every opportunity to prove to us that he would keep his word and work on this room, but he hasn't even kept his promise as a contractor or anything else. So, I'm hoping that something can be done in order to get our money back. For I'm almost at the point to where I don't
want him to even come on our property. All I want is my money back and he can send someone to come and get his materials. Please advise us on what we can do to get our money back, for that is what I want. My husband had ask
him if he did this to all of his clients or was it just us.
This contractors' reponse was, "bad timing". Now that's a lame excuse if I ever heard one. If there's someone that you can contact or contact us on this matter, we'd deeply appreciate it very much. There should be a law on things such as this. And we don't have the money to take him to court, for he has nothing, but he should be made to pay me back this money. I have told him if he wasn't going to finish this job, at least give me half of my money back. Again some excuse. For when my husband gave him the money last year, he gave him enough to buy all of the materials up front, and I believe he spent the money. For his excuse is the materials have gone up. But he had more than enough of our money to buy the materials, but he didn't.
So, my question is: What did he do with the rest of the money that was given to him to buy the materials??? For my husband gave him $6,000.00 up front and we thought he was a man of his word, in which we found out different. So, I'm hoping that you can help me in this matter for I'd like to get my money back. And I'm hoping there's someone that can be contacted on this matter and that something would be done.
