This company is a waste of your time and money. They don't care about their drivers at all. I can speak from experience. They will do everything they to ruin your life. Me and my wife are literally going w/o food, and gas to look for another job. You see Boyd Bros told me they would pay me $100/ day for orientation, and $2500/ bonus but it is spread out over 1.5 years, so basically you are paying yourself the sign on bonus. The only drivers that get the good loads is the elite fleet.
And when I called about my orientation pay they would not return my call. I was very polite to these people if I honestly and truly had to money to get a lawyer. I would I don't believe in suing somebody everytime they lie, but this company went to far. I called down to the Birmingham Terminal to see if I could get my old dispatcher, so that I know what to expect out of him, and he would know what I expect. I was looking at it as a two-way street.
I asked the person at the front desk to give me a wake up call at 0430 est. But I never received my phone call, but prior to the night before I got my wake up call on time. I was up over half the night studying for the test we supposed to have on Friday before we were assign a truck, and a load. I was going to where the money supposedly, or that is what I thought. I tried to explain my case, but they did not want to listen at all. My roommate was late, but he did not have to leave it was just me.
There has to be away to stop this from continuing to someone else. To beat it all I was a re-hire. There even their drivers to work for them. When I asked what was the reason why they were sending me home they said anythin I would have to write to these people according Alabama Law. I just called and they said just now they were not going to pay for those days I was up there. They were not going to pay unless they hired me. But they welcomed me aboard, and told I was rehired. I would like to seek retribution for this unlawful act they are pulling on each every driver. This has to stop immediately.
