We've had a Vermont Castings propane (fake wood) Gas Heater for many years. It never really functioned properly from year to year. We've never been able to contact Vermont Castings or whoever bought them out in Canada. We are always referred to their authorized dealers/installers which, it turns out, is anyone licensed by the jurisdiction to install any such device. We've been through two professionals and they both threw up their hands. They can't figure it out. I'm sure that if Vermont Castings actually had technician product-specific-training and certification for their products, it would be an easy fix but apparently it's beyond the average local technician certified by Colorado in propane/NG appliance installation. And in this day of the internet, you can never get a human being to talk to. Even the two professionals we've hired cannot get in contact with the manufacturer.
