Consumer Report

I called under the impression that I was calling Asus tech support. Called, spoke to a representative which also led me to believe I was calling Asus tech support. I explained my issue. He was wanting me to pay $50.00 in which I said No Thank You and hung up. I called back and spoke with another representative and he was requesting 160.98 and was also leading me to believe he was representing Asus. I explained to him that I had just called and the previous tech was requesting $50.00 I asked him why the difference in fees in which he could not explain other than to say that I would only be charged $50.00 if the issue of my laptop was not fixed via phone since it was still under warranty. I was a little baffled to say the least, but desperate in getting my laptop repaired. I agreed thinking my credit card would only be charged $50.00 (issue was not resolved over the phone). I called back the following day and made sure I was, in fact, calling Asus. I spoke to a tech and explained to him all the problems I had ran into with speaking to tech supporters who was leading me to believe I was speaking to Asus technical support as well as explaining the issues with my laptop and how different charges were being 'thrown out there' for me to pay. Asus technical support said they have had Many complaints such as mine. He explained to me that I would not be charged because my laptop was under warranty and we detected the issues over the phone.
I received my credit card statement and $119.98 charged to my credit card. I went to my bank and my bank is disputing the charge. The following month, there was another charge of $19.99. I called the 877 number listed on my credit card. I don't mind saying that I totally went off! I spoke with God knows who and she said that they would listen to the recording and then will determine if there will be any credits to my credit card. I explained to her that this all was a scam. The techs led me to believe I was speaking with Asus Tech supporters and never at anytime did I agree to pay $119.98. However, I did agree to pay a $50.00 charge as I stated above. At this point, I feel I should be credited all monies as this company is scamming people, misleading people, charging charges that are false charges.
I will be reporting them to the Credit Bureau. Everyone I have spoken with from this misleading company are foreigners who are identifying themselves with "American names, and their interest is ONLY getting peoples credit card numbers to charge fees that are not warranted or agreed to by the consumer!!! I am extremely ILL that this company is allowed to continue such false leading, misrepresenting as a company other than who they say they are, which in this case, who the hell are they? I am on a mission to find this very question out!!!
