I responded to a popup ad for a free download to fix my slow PC. Upon calling the number to activate the software, I was told that the program could not help my computer but for an additional $300, they could fix my problem. I realized I was being scammed and told the rep that I did not want to pay anymore and wanted to cancel the free download which cost $29.97. He gave me a number to call for a refund. They in turn told me that I would have to fill out a form. I called my Credit Card Co. And relayed the story. They told me they would cancel payment which never occurred. So, now they are disputing the charge.
