My wife and I found "A Professional Move" online, and the Tarzana one said it was a member of the BBB, but the Dallas one did not. Both have Carrie Ateass as the president (although one said Carrie Ateasa). They did not show up when they said they would.
I called and they said they were looking into it. So I gave them an extra day pending a discount. They still did not show up. So I went with a different moving company. The day of, a moving company showed up. I asked them if they were American Van Lines, the company we went with. (We had problems with them as well.) The guy said that they were American Van Lines. Well, American Van Lines showed up two hours later. The first ones were A Professional Move! They lied to us! I told them I was calling the police. I called the police and they showed up, but of course did not do anything.
But the drivers from A Professional Move said that they would load our stuff onto the correct moving truck. Also, our deposit with A Professional Move was never refunded. I spoke to their president and she gave me garbage about not being able to until they "closed the batch." This is bull—I have worked in retail before and I know that you can give refunds on credit cards before the batch is closed for the day. I never got my refund, so they kept my $300. The victim was my bank. Our money was refunded by our bank, however, so the bank lost the $300. And all the while the cops did nothing about it, claiming it was merely a "civil matter." The cop even asked me, "What do you want me to do?" Go figure. This is why thieves like A Professional Move get away with this: because the law is never applied to them.
Do not go with A Professional Move! They were also recently revoked of their membership with the BBB, and I think I had a lot to do with it.: 0) At least I got them to lose their membership in the BBB.
