During the time I was hunting for a loan, I got a call from an Indian representative in California. I could not come up with $120 on Friday but thought I could the following Monday. Then on that same Friday, I got a call from Michael Roberts, a loan officer with a deep American accent. He told me I had been approved for $1,650 and to call him Monday, which I did, but he wasn't answering (probably swindling a little oil' lady). I called the (209) area code number that had first called me on Friday, looking for Michael Roberts - and people with Indian accents with usual American names from the Pat Boone era started to boost up the loan for $3,500 and the synapses in my frontal lobe started to connect. And they wanted me to put the payment through Green Dot - rather than through normal banking channels.
