My boyfriend received a call on Friday 4/9/09 4:30 pm from American Credit Services stating that he had taken out a payday loan in September for approximately $700 and it had gone unpaid. The caller was rude, pressured and spoke with a Indian accent stating that if the payment of $1495.87 (stating that interest had accrued) was not made by the end of the day (5:00 pm) that an officer would come to his home on Monday and take him to court and would wind up paying $5000 if the $1495.87 was not paid by 5:00. Unfortunately, we paid this amount by credit card and are now awaiting reversal of this charge by my credit card company. This is a total scam!!!
