I got bumped to 29% interest by Capitol One Credit Card and could not make the payments. A company called WORLD LAW GROUP calls me up and says they can get Capitol One to reduce the amount owed to approx. $8,100 in payments of $377.51/month for 2 years (paid to WORLD LAW GROUP) and that CAPITOL ONE usually agrees to the process. But the WORLD LAW GROUP does not tell me that CAPITOL ONE may very well not let them know for the whole 2 years of $377.51 payments to them.in other words, the WORLD LAW GROUP set me up to pay them $377.51 per month and after 2 years, they can simply say Sorry, CAPITOL ONE did not accept our offer - and then I would be out $8100.00 and owe CAPITOL ONE thousands upon thousands more at 29% interest. I cancelled the agreement with WORLD LAW GROUP but they appear to be refusing to refund my one payment of $377.51. They say they will call me back, but don’t. I am broke, have no job, and am selling everything I own of any value to at least try to resolve these issues. I have been scammed twice - by CAPITOL ONE and their 29% policy, and again by the WORLD LAW GROUP's false offer of help. Go read the multiple complaints about WLG at usacomplaints.com. Is there any help for me anywhere or is this simply what companies are allowed to do in the United States? I want my $377.51 back.
