Universal Timeshare stated over the phone that the $1800 fee that we paid upfront was refundable at any time if we changed our mind about selling our timeshare or if a buyer wasn't found to purchase our timeshare.
We signed up with Universal Timeshare in February, and it wasn't until June that they said they found a buyer but that we'd have to pay additional fees to close the deal. At this point we realized we were being scammed (why red flags didn't go up prior, or why I didn't check online or with the BBB before paying the $1800, don't ask...) but there is no way we were going to pay additional fees. When we tried to get our $1800 back the representative said the $1800 was non-refundable. WHAT A SCAM! He clearly stated it would be refundable in his initial conversation.
