I received a call from an unknown number. When I picked up the call this man with an indian accent started telling me that I was approved for my grant money that I had applied for. To which I told him I did not remember but to explain. The whole conversation was a bit off, he kept interrupting me when I had a question stating that to trust him that he was not a scammer or telemarketer. At some point I did believe him and was thankful that I was going to be getting free money from the government but once I asked for his name and he gave me an american name that was the major red flag right there. Im not racist and there could be people with american names that are not 100% american but Daniel Newson, definitely not. Then I proceeded with asking the name of the company or their online site to verify that they were legit and asked him to give me a moment to look into it. I found this link and was thankful to see that I followed my instincts to look them up. I told him of my findings against the company and he seemed a bit off and that they were going to look into it but that it was not true. Moral of this experience is the government does not give you free money through grants with a phone call and you having to pay a small fee for it.
