Unsolicited call claiming I'd won $500,000 from a sweepstakes (that I'd never entered). I played along to see what the scam was. Cashiers ck to be delivered in 2 days, but since funds came from SE Asia the IRS required payment of taxes in advance. As intl tax attorneys they were able to take care of most of this, but I needed to get them a $2500 deposit toward the taxes. When they asked if I could do that today, and I said it sounded fishy they immediately hung up. Call recorded as coming from 661-449-1623. Got the same call a day or two ago from 612-345-6788, but they hung up earlier when I said I hadn't entered a sweepstakes. Original caller, a woman, had a heavy foreign accent. "Attorney" did not.
