On Friday May 3, I called Ware Disposal and ordered a roll-off dumpster 10 yard low boy for concrete for the cost of $495.00 which was billed on the same day. On Saturday May 4, at approximately 10 AM, they delivered a 40 yard dumpster. I explained to the driver that I ordered a 10 yard low boy for concrete. He said he knew nothing, to call the company. I called Ware Disposal and spoke to Manny. I explained the situation and he did not want to send out the correct dumpster, he said to go ahead and use the dumpster. I asked if the price was going to change because this was a very large container for my purpose. Manny said “no, to use this one but only fill 2 feet max”. I figured the 2 feet max was for the cost of $495.00 and anything over was going to be charged as extra weight.
Monday morning I called Ware Disposal to pick up the dumpster. They said they will send someone out the following day. On Tuesday May 7 at approximately 6 AM, a flat bed truck rolled up, hitched the dumpster and 5 minutes later was gone.
Per Manny’s instructions, I filled it 2 feet high of concrete. Two weeks later, on Thursday, May 23, I receive a statement from Ware Disposal with an additional charge of $453.23 billed on May 20. I contacted Ware Disposal on May 29 at approximately 9 AM. I spoke with a young lady by the name of Emily. She said the supervisor (Jose) was not in that day. She said she will forward the message for Jose to contact me. She patched me through his voice mail as I left a message as well. I did not hear from him until 2 days later when I returned the phone call and happen to speak to him directly. I explained the whole situation and he explained it looks like the dumpster was overweight by 7 tons. The supervisor (Jose) said there is nothing he could do even after their mistake of delivering the wrong dumpster. If I had the correct dumpster delivered, I would not be in this situation today. I did the work myself to save a little money in today’s economy. Now I find the little savings being taken by a deceiving company. I was misled by Manny in thinking that as long as I did not fill the dumpster more than 2 feet, that I would pay only $495 for that dumpster. I am not a contractor. I am a simple homeowner trying to save a little money. I do not have a scale to weigh how much concrete I am allowed to put in dumpster. I am not sure if it is the same dumpster I used for my 10X10 patio concrete removed. The billing for the additional $453.23 was done 2 weeks after my dumpster was picked up.
I would have appreciated a little knowledge from their employees on how their system or billing works, especially to homeowners like myself that do not do this for a living. I would like for this additional charge to be credited to my account as soon as possible. Thank you for your help.
