I was scammed over the phone. A "public defender" called for my mother, asking "is my grandmother there?" I thought it was my nephew calling... For his grandmother. He needed to pay damages on a car he had reaqr ended. Money was money grammed to Ecuador to Jefferson Antonio Espinoza Rivera, for $2800, so he could be released from jail, with the other person in the accident paid for the damages. Anyway, we are smart enough to avoid this kind of thing normally, but we just buried my dad and just did not reason this all out correctly. Now my mom is out the #2800 and we are all feeling like the fools we are.
My nephew just called in response to my text to call when he got out. He was at work all day, not in jail.
