GE Capital Bank
Consumer Report

I placed an application online for a personal loan and received a phone call and a voicemail message from someone who called himself Steven, asking me to call him back at 813 398-9136. After I talked to Steven and was adv that the loan was approved he advised me that he was transferring me to his supervisor over funding, Jack Woods. I do want to add that phone environment sounded like a call center and everyone there sounded like they were from India. Jack Woods (of course that isn't his real name) advised me that they are insured by FDIC and the funds will be transferred to my account within the hour. He gave me his extension to call him back (ext 151) But first I would have to put $200 on a Vanilla Reload Network card. When I questioned Jack Woods about the reason for the card he said it was to show that their were funds available for the first payment on the loan. So I agreed. After the money was put on the card I was adv that the transfer was in progress but that I had to pay $460 for insurance on the loan and it had to be paid before the funds transfer. I refused and was then advised that my loan application would be cancelled. I asked for a refund of my $200 and was told it would be refunded back to my account in 3 hours, it never was.
