12 months before I was eligible for a pardon I signed on with Canadian Pardons. They looked into my case and agreed that I was. I paid them nearly 550 and paid the added expenses of the record search and finger printing.
A month before my eligibility date, they contacted me and told me that one of two fines I had paid as a result of my convictions was unpaid. I had 2 fines. One was for $3000.00 and the other for 300.00. I paid both but the smaller fine was not filed properly and I had no receipts. I went straight to the court house and paid it, but they said I had to now wait another 5 years from the date of payment.
I wanted to know, since Canadian Pardons was working for me, why they did not find this out earlier instead of a month before the date. The person I had been in contact with mysteriously disappeared and I was never able to reach the same person twice after that. I wanted to go ahead with the application, and if I was turned down at least I would get the chance to argue my case, but they refused to submit the pardon or give me my paperwork. Of course they refused to pay my money back and asked for another 500 to move the pardon forward in 5 years. It was a waste of money and time. They were rude, and utterly useless. Do not use this company.
